puppy love

Ok, he's not exactly a puppy. He's roughly eighty pounds of sweetness and pure muscle.   Although the five days that we've had our new greyhound have felt an awful lot like when we brought our newborns home from the hospital, he's already won our hearts, and taken over our home.

fast friends

Cedric arrived on our first snow day. Between the snow and the anticipation of his arrival, our house was like Christmas Eve again.

I won't lie: he's a lot of work. I felt like an overwhelmed and sleep-deprived new mother for most of Saturday, Sunday and Monday, but I'm starting to see the light and getting to know this laid-back sweetheart. More than anything, I am so happy that my kids will get to grow up with a dog.  I know it's something they will remember forever.

Are you a dog person?

Erin

  2. He looks so regal! I've heard greyhounds are wonderful pets! We have a 82 lb yellow lab names lucy that we adore... even when she tears up the kitchen trash and snatches entire roasted chickens from the counter! Pups are the best... enjoy :)

  3. He is so good looking! He pops out of every picture, like a living statue. I have two cats because I love in a small apartment, but this puppy just went to my (designer) heart!

  4. What a pose of nobility! Great shot! :)

I have to admit that I lean toward felines, but I grew up with a cat. ;)

It is so true that your children will make many sweet memories with their greyhound-love! Enjoy!

  5. I had both cats and dogs growing up Anne, and cats are so much easier. There is no way that big old Ceddy can curl up in bed with me the way my cats used to! But I am a sucker for most four legged creatures (except for the rodent kind ; ) He's already a member of the family!

  6. He is beautiful! I've always been a dog person. We used to breed and show dogs growing up. I had a dog right out of college and when she passed away I was heartbroken. After having kids, I was too overwhelmed to get another. Maybe someday again down the road, but for now, I'm loving our silly chickens. :)
